PLANTS - VEGETATION

Hello everyone!
On the last post i had shared about Tourism spot in Italy. It is amazing, isn't it?
In this post,I want to share to you about something which is little bit different from my last post.
In this post, I want to roll out about land and resources of Italy. But, this will be more explanation about plants and vegetations in Italy.

Mostly plants or vegetation of Italy are trees such as:


  1. Olive :


OLIVE

Firstly, olive is planted on Mediterranean region. But, nowadays olive is widely planted in other part of the world such as Italy. The functions of olive are for eating and producing olive oil. Olive oil is used in cooking and in cosmetic.



2. Orange :
ORANGE

There are several orange trees in Italy. Orange trees are evergreens. Orange trees has about 9 m (30 ft) in height. Oranges are the great commercial importance in Italy.








3. Lemon :

LEMON

Lemon trees are planted on tropical area of the world, especially in Italy,Spain,Portugal,and California. Lemon trees grow to be about 3 to 6 m tail. Lemon is used as a drink such as juice. It is contained high vitamin C.







 4. Palm :

PALM

Palms are important sources of foods such as Dates palm,Coconuts,and Sago. Palms are grown as ornamentals in tropical and subtropical regions. Palm can be used for many purpose such as fibers,raffia,oil palm,etc. This vegetation are widely spread on central and south Italy.

 5. Citron :
CITRON
Citron is planted for its fruit in Southern Europe for example, Italy. The fruit is 18 to 25 cm long,oval,yellow,aromatic and rough. This vegetation are also widely spread in central and South Italy.








In Italy, there are also the rapid growths of Chestnut,Cypress,and Oak trees on the lower slopes. On the higher slopes there are Pine and Fir

Another common types which are also well planted in Italy are :

 1. Fig :

FIG TREE
Fig tree is widely planted in tropical and subtropical countries. It is about 5 to 8 m tall. Its branches are covered with downy bark. So, we can conclude that Fig tree is a low tree. Most of the Fig fruit is dried before marketing.




 2. Pomegranate : 

POMEGRANATE
The pomegranate is bushy plant with glossy leaves and red flowers. Pomegranate fruit is as large as orange and filled with seeds. The tree is cultivated in Italy for its fruit. It grows in warm regions in Italy.


3. Almond :

ALMOND

Almonds grows up to 9 m high. In Italy, almond grows wild. Almond have a good taste. It is also nutritious.






4. Sugarcane :

SUGARCANE
Sugarcane grows to a height of 3 to 6 m and has stems 2 to 5 cm thick. Sugarcane has been planted since ancient era. In Italy, sugarcane is planted in the winter. Italian harvest sugarcane from January to August. It is widely spread in south area of Italy.


 5. Cotton :

COTTON
Cotton is a material for cloth. Cotton hold a great economic importance in Italy. In Italy, production of cotton starts after harvesting the cotton it self. There are several cotton farmers in Italy.  The length of individual cotton plant is about 1,3 to 6 cm.
